Employment in M.O.M.I.E's Total Learning Cis-Tem

Children's Gallery Coordinator

The Children’s Gallery of Black History is an interactive, traveling, “children’s museum” dedicated to teaching young children about the lives of great minority leaders from the past and present.  Visitors learn about great people through hands-on exhibits and activities.  Children "walk a mile in the shoes of" the great person by doing some of the things that the great person may have done.

Recent exhibits have focused on influential minority change makers including Benjamin Banneker, Frederick Douglass, Richard Oakes, and Majora Carter.  The Gallery Coordinator will support the implementation of the February 2010 Children’s Gallery of Black History, set to be housed at All Souls Church, Unitarian.  In addition, Gallery Educators will set up planned exhibits at various venues throughout the DC metropolitan area and guide visitors through the Gallery.  This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 10-15 hours per week in addition to training sessions that are required.
